A Visual Story

A Visual Story

All right, so we've discussed that a story is "what it was, what happened, what it is now."  So how do we convey this, write it?  No!  What is this, a book?  You have to show it.  More specifically, it needs to be show visually.  Here's an example:

What it was:

It's Nighttime
What Happened:
The Sun Came Up

What it is now:
Daytime

Now this is the simplest of stories, shown in the simplest ways.  To make a movie or a tv show is a little more complicated than this.  But you get the idea that you have to show a change visually, because film is a visual medium.  This might seem obvious, but you'd be amazed at how you often have to state the obvious.
